I don't know if information technology is a coincidence or perchance this model is prone to breakdowns simply I have just received another 3200i and it volition not piece of work on either a film photographic camera or on digital (I realize it will go full flash on digital if it did work at all). The lights come on but nobody'due south home I even tried it with an OC string and zip. The camera "realizes" it's connected and on because I can't increase the shutter speed more than 1/200s. I guess the bulb is shot on both? Is that an easy fix or should I not bother. I probably can merely sell them functioning for around USD25-35 each. If there is no easy/cheap fix I suppose they could be skilful for parts... Everyone that can help please come along. Thanks

I have feel with Minolta 3200i wink since 1989. I oasis't seen anything that would betoken this model to exist prone to breakdowns - on the contrary. Mine has worked flawlessly for 19 years - first with analogue cameras and lately as well with my digital Dynax 7D. As you lot already know, for digital cameras you need to set the discontinuity manually - no big bargain. Yous have two power levels to choose from (the weaker level is mostly intended to speed up the recycle time to be able to shoot up to 5 fps flash pictures, I retrieve). Bank check that the flash connectors are clean and undamaged. Also, it ought to exist possible to test if the flash tube is OK by pressing the test button.

OOOOOPS! I just checked them out over again with some fresh batteries and lo and behold let there be lighting! How stupid of me. It came on with the batteries I used the first time only I didn't realize that the "lightning" led wasn't on.... They both work fine! BTW thanks Swede101 but I don't run across a test button on the 3200i's?? Brgds Edited by Dumont - 11 Apr 2008 at 03:20

Then the 3200i doesn't have a test button (probably mixed it up with my Minolta 5600HS(D). I wasn't quite certain if the 3200i had a test button too, and I couldn't check it up because I am non at home now when writing this. Take no Internet connection in my flat. :-( Glad to hear that at to the lowest degree both your 3200i's is working now!
